Argghhh I'm having a nightmare at the minute.

Just goy up and Sophie s eye is sore it's swollen and red I presume it is a hay poke or something. Mrs mouse her friend keeps rubbing it with her mouth I think she must be licking it? I have put a divider in cage cos I'm sure that is not healthy and vould be germy. They are now sat on either side of the divide next to each other sulking.

I hope ive done right thing separating. In addition last night I found a scab on Rupert s back which I suspect to be absess from fighting. He's been with me since 2nd december so I feel terrible that I havent spotted it sooner as he has not been with another guinea pig since I got him so hes had it all this time. his hair hss grown over the scab so it's oldish.

He's been neutered and when safe is going with my girls.

gonna ring vets as I think sophies eye is emergency as I dont want her to go blind and it must be painful so I need some metacam and probably antibiotics.

I'll see if theyll look at rupert too. My guinea luck better improve in new year this is defintely what you get when you get petshop pigs.

If anyone has any advice re tge eye I would appreciate it I have dealt with abessesses before and meds so should be ok on that front.

Just called vets emergency they said to bring sophie in . I dread to think what itll vost as consultation is £85 alone but worth it if it saves her eye getting in quick

Thanks just sat outside vets they are out argghh must be on house call. just what I need got so much to do today but my guinea kids come first!

Good news rupert is fine scab is old war wound from before I got him. Not infected so just needs bathing to get it to heal up. Sophie has scratched her eye but as I got her seen so quickit is not infected yet. Got some eye drops and am going back Christmas eve for check up
