Archie seems to have hurt his back right leg, I noticed he is hopping and he seems to have difficulty lifting it up to scratch himself. The only change I can think of is I put a new ramp for him to get into his cage, which he seems to dislike and prefers not to use it, when he did use it, he wouldn't use the other side to walk down on (the angle was wrong, I realised) and did a big jump to avoid it.
I will obviously take him to the vet if it continues, but do you guys think thats the most likely cause?
His appearance, appetite, poops etc are all normal.

It may well be the jump from the ramp. I would get him vet checked if I were you. I doubt he's done anything more than sprain it - but it's always worth making sure there's nothing broken - and .... he is likely to be in pain and need painkillers .

Oh poor lil fella :soz: bless him. I hope it’s just a sprain and nothing serious, paws crossed with the vet visit xx

Yes hopefully he will be fine. As he is getting on in age, I did wonder if it was stiff joints or something.

Keep him comfortable, ensure food and hay is next to his favourite bed area so he doesn’t have to travel far. Essentially bed rest for the little guy to help the healing, I would also suggest a sprain, may need some anti-inflammatory and pain meds. That’s what did with a sprain confirmed by vet. X

well that was lucky, we happened to have some pain relief already, I guess left over from when he had his operation a few years ago. Gave him a little and it seemed to help lots, over a few days, and now it seems like his leg is recovering because he is walking nearly back to normal.
