Just before Christmas my young pig got a scab on his lower lip, which I thought he might have got scrapping with my older one. The scab healed and came off over christmas, leaving healthy skin and growing hair underneath.
However he now has a bigger scab in the same place, up to the corner of his mouth. Its sort of crusty and yellowy, quite dry and doesnt look sore.
In himself he is fine and eating normally.
I dont feed anything citrusy or anything, and my other pig is fine.
Will be taking him to vet on monday, I'm thinking perhaps a fungal infection?

Any ideas?

It might well be he has an oral thrush. Piggies can get these commonly from picking up fungus from things they eat. Nothing thats your fault at all. Its easy to treat with Daktarin oral gel you can get from the chemist and is used to treat oral thrush.

CCT suggest using 0.5ml 3 times a day for a week, then twice a day for week and then once daily for a week.

See what the vets says?

xx.

Pickle has been to the vet today and has some cream which should hopefully clear things up :).
Vet commented how well they looked and that they are obviously well looked after, which was nice, and even asked what I do to keep them in such 'beautiful condition'. :)
