One of our boys had a large amount of boar glue stuck under his chin, we did try to remove with coconut oil but he has scratched it off and pulled a chunk of fur with it.

He's been left with a sore bald patch that did bleed but stopped fairly quickly.
Vet checked and he's perfectly fine! Had the remaining boar glue shaved off šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

I just wondered if there's anything I can apply to the wound to help it heal?
I've seen savlon and germolene mentioned, is this safe to use? Thanks

Better not to use anything that isn't certified safe for small pets and rodents. F10 or a mild saline solution would work, but it should heal by itself quite quickly. Piggies can lick stuff off their paws, so even topical medications can be ingested ā¤ļø

I would agree that it is probably best left alone, particularly if the vet has seen it and agreed he’s fine.
While the wound was fresh and open, the most I’d do would be a saline solution but once the skin has begun to seal (probably only take a day or two) then I would not disturb that healing process.

If a piggy gets boar glue on them, you can sometimes cut the clump of hair off with scissors if you have the leeway on an area with longer hair. If not, it’s usually best to leave it alone - you certainly won’t get it off with coconut oil.
(if they catch it and it causes an injury, then of course a vet visit)

I hope he is ok
