Hi All,

I wondered if anyone could advise me i have just picked up Nancy to trim her nails as she suffers with her nails growing at odd angles and noticed a little piece of food stuck to one of her toes. When i removed it she was clearly in some discomfort and now she has what looks like really hard skin underneath where the food was and is swollen. Ive soaked it and got rid of a layer of the bad skin but her toes still looks very sore.

Any advice on what it might be and how i treat it? Also do i need to move them off sawdust to stop it getting worse?

I've changed my picture to her foot so you can all see it in detail. Please ignore the little bit of grass i just gave her some to cheer her up a bit.

It could be the bedding irritating her so would consider trying something like fleece or vet bed - both very popular.
If the area is dry, perhaps pop a little bit of Sudocrem on or vaseline may help but keep a very close eye as Bumblefoot is a nasty affliction suffered by piggies.
A Vet's opinion is the best choice if you have concerns sooner rather than later.
This may help:

Hope Nancy is ok (I have a fluffy bum girl Nancy too :)))
