Checked on Orinoco today (he was making an unusual snuffling noise) and found a sore on his nose. He sat with me for about 15 minutes yesterday late PM and I didn't notice anything then - he was enjoying himself trying to eat my jumper. Is this some sort of scrape? Or a cold sore? Or an infestation of something? And does he need a vet?

Hi Valerie

It's hard to tell really, it looks like he's scraped it? I wouldn't think he'd need to see a vet urgently, if it's a scrape then just keep any eye on it and it should scab over and heal ok.

It doesn't really look like a bite, they can get fungal but it seems a bit sudden. I'd wait and see :)

Put some Bepanthen ointment on the area for a couple of days. (Available from chemist/supermarket).
