My pig has some small and some very big sores or bites on her. I've taken her to the vet who said get Revolution place for mites. I've put it on her two weeks ago but she still seems to bite for scratch herself really badly. I'm so worried, how can I help her more and what can I do to stop an infection? I isolated her from other pigs so I know shes not being attacked and given her a 5 star hotel experience.

Thanks so much.

I am not familiar with the treatment you have been recomended. Her mites look severe so the best treatment would be a course of ivomectin given by injection by a vet. Poor girl :(

Please have her seen again by the vet as she hasn’t improved - as soon as possible. . I’m not familiar with revolution nor treatment for mites. Have a read of the guide I’ve linked to below. You will need to thoroughly disinfect the cage (using F10) but for now I think the priority is getting her to the vet again. I would also consider bonding her with the others again. This isn’t due to biting.

How long have you had her and where did you get her from?

Revolution is a selamectin-based treatment that is more commonly used in the USA but rarely in the UK as we have our own ivermectin-based country-specific brands. It is perfectly OK to use.

Guinea Lynx :: Antiparasitics (information on revolution for mange mites)

However, you need to keep applying it more than once (a minimum of 3 rounds and more in woesr cases until the mites are no longer emerging from the eggs plus one more treatment) and strictly at the interval mentioned on the pack.

This is a very severe case and it is vital that you prevent your piggy from reaching the back and biting into the sores.

Please contact one of these good welfare standard Australian guinea pig rescues that all have plenty of practical experience and tips on how to deal with severe mites and which local brands and stuff to use (brand names often vary from country to country) so you can get hold of the right stuff as quickly as possible. Any of them is best placed to help you on the ground, which is what you really need with such an advanced case like yours wich will take another month or two to see him though with the necessary extra support care in addition to the revolution.
