What do you do with it to dispose of it? So far it has been going into a bag and into normal refuse - is there a more eco friendly way of disposing of this? Would be great if this and the hay waste could go into green garden waste bin?

Each council has it own rules, but as a general rule of thumb, piggy bedding and poo can go into garden/food waste. Where i am, paper can't go into the green waste bin, but when i lived in Derby, food, animal waste and paper/card could all go in together.

I put hay, megazorb and soiled newspapers in the green garden wheelie bin, I'm afraid the dogs eat most of the piggy poops if they get the chance!

Mine goes in the black bin. I imagine hay & poo etc could be composted if you have a garden? :)

If it wasn't mixed with hay or bedding, it could surely be flushed down the loo?

Having found perfectly intact poos after washing fleece at 90 degrees, I wouldn't be surprise if they survived the flush and climbed back out again!

I second this, did you know they make the 'black boxes' in aeroplanes out of guinea pig poo?

I third it, they are indestructible :))

Mine all go in the black bag bin, I tried to hide it in veg waste for the recycling but they found it and wouldnt take it away (as my council are meanies), I used to give it to my friend who composts it but all the dogs kept raiding the compost for the poos, including mine so it gets chucked out with the rubbish now.

Thanks everyone, seems such a shame to fill the landfill with it when it is perfectly compostable! I will try the green bin, until I get told otherwise :)

sprinkle it on the lawn it makes good fertilizer if you dont have children crawling about on the grass
