Rosehip
Junior Guinea Pig
Not sure where this should go, so please shuft it to wherever it should be Admin! lol!
I've been having a hard time recently, my health (mental and physical) has been on the downward turn, and I have closed myself off from everything.
I'm still not great, had a really bad week last week, but have decided that I really need to try and be a functioning member of society and 'man up' a little!
So, how is everyone? Hope all furries are good and behaving themselves?!
Piper has now gone to live with a friend of ours, the lady who had Bumble and Gertie off us when I first moved. Bumble passed away and Gertie was lonely, and as Piper was beating everyone up and having to live on her own, Jude offered to see if she and Gert would get on - they do at floor time, but have to be in separate side by side bedrooms as Piper has real issues about her own personal space! Gert seems happy to have window company, so all is tentatively good there!
Madam Lettuce - Lettie - is a huge character, and is ruling the household from her loft apartment! She even has a squeak just for the dogs, and plays with our young dog through the bars of her bedroom and at floor time - she is currently doing 'the bowl dance' - which is very similar to a rain dance, but with more kung fu moves and indignant squeaks!
Bluey had to go back to the vets again as she has a show of blood from time to time which our vet feels is probably linked to her seasons, she had a scan, and a myriad of tests, and it appears that she has something similar to hermaphroditism - she doesn't actually have male parts, but she has virtually no female hormones, and is sterile as well as her ovaries being cystic.
We have decided not to spay her at the moment as she is so well in herself (touch wood) and we have baytril in the cupboard for when she has this odd show of blood.
As she is sterile, with no chance of pregnancy, we have allowed her to bond with Theo whilst we wait and decide if we will have him done or not. They absolutely adore eachother, laying snuggled up and kissing etc, it really is lovely to see! They have been together 2months now, and Bluey has had a scan since they have been together to make absolutely sure she couldn't catch, and she is as barren as I am! (I've been spayed! haha!)
In other news, we have found a field a mile down the road from us, so have moved my old mare and Jo's rescue mare there, it has saved me having Melly here to snuggle - her mane is surprisingly absorbent and she doesn't mind me sobbing on her as long as I have sweeties in my pocket or she can munch a haynet!
Anyway, enough rambling from me, I'm sure you are all board to tears!
Ttfn all, xxxxx
