Treacle is a 5 year old male piggy.
Just lately he seems to be having poo problems. Has had diarrhea three times over the last few weeks which I have treated myself by taking him off fresh veggies for a few days. A couple of times I’ve also given him an Imodium melt in the mouth and diarolyte solution, together with Fibreplex twice a day. This has helped and within a few days the diarrhoea has cleared up.

Now, however, his poos are coming out in clumps ( with some normal ones as well) and little bits of “broken” poo as well. I have checked his bottom by turning it inside out (gross, I know!) but I previously had a boar with impaction so I’ve done this before. His bottom is quite messy, with a lot of mucky poo inside.

Could this be an impaction problem, and if so, is there anything I should be doing? Sorry this is all a bit gross, but I’m sure you’re all used to piggy poo problems!

Hi!

Please have him vet checked if this is a recurring problem. Do not give any human medication on spec.
