Sow with mucous from genitals

Iโ€™m just catching up with your thread. Iโ€™m so glad you went with the spay but Iโ€™m sorry the rebonding isnโ€™t going well :( I am sending lots of healing vibes and good luck wishes xx

Shes eating much better, 865g at the vets, back in two days but everything looks great ๐Ÿ˜ and I'm a lot happier and less stressed today! ๐Ÿ’–

Iโ€™m so pleased to read this. Itโ€™s always such a worry when they arenโ€™t eating after surgery, but once they start to feel better and less sorry for themselves you know you youโ€™ve turned a corner.

Hi I have only just caught up with your thread. Well done it must have been really worrying. Rose, Rosie and Posey Rocket send healing wheeks x

It really is, she definitely had us worried over the weekend ๐Ÿ’– she came to be picked up for her morning top up and metacam this morning too, shes eating lots by herself now so hopefully we can slow down on the syringe feeds ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽ‰

So wonderful to hear all of this.

When a forum piggy is unwell, or undergoing surgery, believe me when I say that we share in the ownerโ€™s ups and downs. This forum is genuinely a very supportive environment. Iโ€™ve had tremendous support on here over the years.

I can only echo this. When Donald was struggling so much it was the members of this forum that kept me going

Alll good with her, back to normal, gained 26g, eating normally no more syringe feeds or metacam ๐Ÿ˜ one final check in a week then hopefully we can stay away from the vets ๐Ÿ˜‚ she's so happy popcorninng around, just wish she wasn't on her own even if she is loving human interaction I'd like too bond her with a boar, maybe have him neutured too so once the 6 weeks are up we can try the group again see if he can keep them all in check ๐Ÿ˜

I am so pleased your girl is doing well. Well done you, having a sick piggy is so draining and to have young children in the mix as well is really hard for you. Hope you can get some rest now!

That is wonderful news! And makes all the exhaustion and sleepless nights worthwhile, doesn't it? :yahoo:

Determined home care can indeed save lives, but nobody has ever said it would be easy with all the inevitable ups and downs and the sheer exhaustion. She is one lucky piggy to have found you!

Go and try to get as much as rest and sleep now as you can around a little baby and small children!

Thankyou I'm super proud of her! It's definitely worth it to see her back to her happy self ๐Ÿ˜ I think being a pet parent is just as challanging, rewarding and completely exhausting as being a human parent sometimes ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ˜‚ all worth it in the end though! xx

OK so rebonding is definitely not happening, fluffy has calmed down since her spay, butt nugget (lead piggy) will not have her back, even if just a cage in the room she won't leave her alone she bit her bum during the last rebonding attempt on neutral ground (no blood drawn just a very scared fluffy) fluffy is starting to show some signs of loneliness and a little depression (lathergic not interested in toys and even her fave veggies aren't making her run for them ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ) so the hunt for a boar begins... Can anyone advise how I would. Go about this please? We are currently in the middle of mass redecorating and everyone is in temporary set ups, while they are clean and do meet minumum requirements and piggys are extremely loved by all of us my house is a huge mess and we have three young children I am worried we won't pass a rescues criteria right now๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธI am also conscious I can't leave fluffy alone for much longer, I've messaged a couple of breeders who regularly retire boars to see if they have one suitable but would it be worth trying rescues anyway and explaining the situation (we are in south yorkshire if it makes a difference) the plan would be to have him neutured eventually in the hope we can try rebonding as a group and he might keep the girls in line ๐Ÿ™ˆ I know a lot of rescues won't rehome with young children, our cat was a rescue however annd we adopted him with the kids, he Had lymphoma and was autoimmune so sadly we only had 4.5 precious months with him but none of us could have loved him more ๐Ÿ’– the rescue centre we got him from does get piggys in but have none available at the moment as I checked them first...

I think you need to speak to individual rescues. I don't think there is so much a blanket ban on rehoming to homes with young children but obviously rescues won't re-home if they think they are being brought as "children's pets" as these might get forgotten about when the children lose interest.

What part of the UK are you in? I have rehomed from RSPCA Walsall previously and am collecting a neutered boar from Neville's Nest this weekend.

They are not childrens pets, there my babies haha! ๐Ÿ˜ South Yorkshire! I might try a wanted post in thhe rescue section! Xx
