sows poos... boars poos...

are they different? i only ask as my sows do thin, what i class as normal length poos, and sonny (my little boar) does slightly fatter, but twice as long poos. is there a reason for this? they seem shiney too. if that makes sense?
 
I love this forum! Where else could you ask a question like that?!

I have to say I haven't noticed any difference between boars and sows poohs, only that babies have smaller ones!

Yeah, I've noticed a slight difference. Perhaps it's because their anatomy is slightly different or perhaps they eat different amounts of different foods. Mine have always been like that, so I don't think it's much to worry about.
 
LOL! sorry! :red:red I just got a bit paranoid! Sonny's the littlest, he's nearly three months old.
 
yes with many boars and sows i have to say i do notice a differnce, the boars are bigger and if you step on them they smell faintly like dogs poo!
 
My Cookie does big thick poos lol but Maisey does smaller ones but only because she's smaller i think. They do not look slimy.
 
I've noticed this too but I thought I would be the only one that had noticed and didn't want to look silly asking thinking no one else had noticed :))
 
One of my boars who was the runt of his litter is a very long and thin pig..and he does very long, thin poops! Maybe the poop matches the pig?!

hehe! you should've pmd me, i have no problems posting silly questions! he's off for his second mites jab today, i'll ask the vet. at least it'll give her a giggle! he's not even 12 weeks yet, so it's not in relation to size as my sows are the big bruisers! bless him,he'd be sooo embarrassed if he knew i was discussing his poos online! i only noticed yesterday, i noticed the size so picked one up to compare with the girls poos (i know, i know, obsessive mommy here!) when i noticed the differences! his even smell a bit more, but are hard not soft.

i know it seems a bit of a silly topic, i knew it'd make someone smile, but genuinely i'm a little worried about it! i'll let you all know what the vet says. x
 
Yep the girls poops are smaller here the boys poops are bigger! :D
 
Celestyn's poos are lighter, thinner and shorter, Zafrons are longer, skinnier and darker.
 
My bigger pigs do bigger poops! Regardless of whether they are girls or boys. Young pigs do longer poops than the adults, usually.
 
Well, I have two boys (baby and adult) and they poop different. Baby poops are long and thin and adult poops are short and thick... It makes it easy to monitor poop issues.

thank you! well,he pooped on the vet's table and she asked him "you like to poo then do you? lots of big healthy poos!" he was pooping poads, but thankfully no pees to embarrass me (i guess thats just the girls then rolleyesrolleyesrolleyes) she said they're fine! [*]phew[/*]!
 
My 3 big boys do big poops, but Scruffy who has always been a bit small does little short teeny ones! Even the baby Curly does bigger ones, although they are long and skinny!

interestingly my pigs poops are exactly as the original poster described ...

my sow has short thin and my boar has long fat. I never thought anything of it, I don't know whether the difference is down to gender difference or age difference. (my sow is just 2 weeks younger than the boar, the boar is 15 weeks old)

you see,i was actually concerned about sonny's poos at first! now i find it hilarious that i was worried! my boar is only 3 and a half months whilst two of my girls are almost one year old and my other two sows are about 8months old.
