So, Hero and his bro Flash are out for cuddles this evening. Flash is usual Flash, where as Hero has completely spaced out!
Even with Flash munching treats in his face, Hero isn't responding at all to anything. I took him in the kitchen with me, plopped him on the counter and put a cucumber in front of him - he immediately began demolishing it!
Back on his playmat with Flash and 'lights are on Hero ain't home' happens again!
He's been out for about half an hour. Anyone else's pig-kids do this?
Here is a photo of him rockin' his fringe (I'm sorry, I took advantage of his zoning out moment!)
I should add - I have gently poked and prodded - nothing. He squints if I stroke by his eyes though.

My Betsy is a coronet/sheltie (I think) and she has mad hair too! though not as impressive as Hero's.Betsy Feet 3.webp

She's bootiful! Do you ever find yourself absent-mindedly fiddling with her long hair? I do with Hero's :xd:
Thanks I know she is that's what attracted me in the first place! Her best mate Velvet (gold agouti rex) reminded so much of my Rainbow Piggy Lenny I just had to have them both! Velvet then went on to have a surprise shop litter 35 days later! Which is why I now have 5!

I do find myself absent-mindedly playing with Betsy's hair yes! I brush it every day too. At the mo she is sporting a very fashionable wedge cut around her bum as it gets very matted with the wee and the poop and it drags in the hay. Not to mention her husboars humping her! All 3 girlies need frequent bum baths! I have 2 boys living in harmony with 3 sows. It works cos the boys are so laid back they are nearly horizontal and Velvet (The BOSS) keeps everyone in order. I do have a contingency plan in case the boys fall out one day.

Aaah they sound like a wonderful, adorable piggy family :luv: Hero used to hate having a brush/bath/hair cut. He and his bro were adopted in March but sadly had to come back - since then he doesn't mind at all :) And his then-mummy gave him a wonderful bum trim which is a way better attempt than mine :))

Have you read this one here? Hero's prey animal instinct may be kicking in when being held on your lap: How To Understand Guinea Pig Instincts And Speak Piggy Body Language

He may be dozing. Guinea pigs can sleep with eyes open so they are still alert to awake at any sudden movement. I have certainly seen some of mine stare off into space for long periods and suspect they are dozing.
