Sparkles is heading to the bridge :o(

I went out side this morning to feed and water the pigs and found Sparkles hunched in the bottom of the hutch, laboured breathing :(
She's showed no signs of being unwell until now. I have brought her in, wrapped her in a towel and held her. She's still wrapped in a towel and I've laid her on the cats radiator bed.
She's barely moving, just blinking.
I think we're just waiting for her to pass now8....
 
So sorry, I know how you feel, I lost one of mine yesterday,you feel so helpless and awful watching them. 8...

I keep going over to her, looking for the rise and fall of the towel, which is hardly any movement :(
Sometimes she musters some energy to shuffle to get comfortable, but she's spending the rest of her time on her side.
I lost Honey over new year, I'm sure she's there waiting to take Sparkles over the bridge.
 
Poor girlie, no change.
I have just mushed up a little banana which is her fave. She's put her teeth on to it and I can hear her slurping it.
Still just waiting :(
 
I'm so upset over Sparkles, I remember you getting her, naming her and seeing her lovely snaps. But you know try not to lose faith. She may buck up after some banana or mashed pellets. If you keep her going she may be still with us to see a vet tomorrow.

She's a great little pig, alpha female - bossing the other about, being first on the grass, really confident.

Now she's almost helpless, just lying there8...
 
Well I thought she was slurping at the banana, turns out she just held it in her mouth :(
 
Oh I'm so sorry to hear this - I've been in this situation several times and it's always heart-wrenching. All you can do is cuddle her and keep her comfortable, perhaps syringe a little water into her if she'll take it.

Is there any chance to take her to the vet today ?

Did you check the temperature ? It is good keeping her warm.

Fingers crossed that she'll make it though 8... .
 
She's quiet, calm and peaceful.

If I thought that the vet might help other than PTS or if she looked distressed I would take her in.
I can't understand how she was all fine last night and now this8...
 
They hide it so well. I was the same with Elora, didn't know at all. Was only looking at her the day before and thinking how healthy she looked, tubby miss! Next day she was gone! :(

Run free ate the bridge and play with Honey.

I'm sure she had as smooth a passing as possible and went knowing all you wanted to tell her and felt you hadn't or couldn't.

I'm so sorry to hear about little Sparkles, but it's good she knew you were with her at the end, it would've been comforting for her, even if so hard for you.

I sat with Joey when he was about to pass over Rainbow Bridge. It was very upsetting, but having said that it was very pleasing to know that I was with him and stroking him when he went. When they are happy to go, they go .... hugs to her and you! x>>
