Guinea pigs may eat the occasional bug but generally they just ignore them, including spiders.

You may find the article about pet anxiety I have written for Guinea Pig Magazine this year in May (issue 62) interesting. I am not just looking at what you can do if you suffer from it but what other people can do when confronted with an owner suffering from it. I've tried to keep it practical but sensitive and down to earth. Hopefully some of the tips may be helpful for you.
