I took 7 year old Spike to the vets in January and was told he had a mamory tumour and another growth (unexplained). I decided not to put him through an operation then however he has now developed another soft growth under his chin. I went to the vet today and I am taking him back tomorrow for an op to hopefully drain the "cyst". I decided on the op as vet said it would get bigger and he wouldn't be able to eat. I have still decided against taking the original growths out as I feel it would all be too much for him. Vet is hopeful he will be able to drain the cyst. If he cannot drain it could be more invasive surgery if veins are attached to the growth.
Please give little Spike some healing vibes he needs them.

Bless little Spike. So long as the other growths aren't causing him pain and discomfort I think you're doing the right thing. Hopefully they will easily sort his chin out!

Good luck, vibes from my wheekers Pebbles, Pringles and Porche x

All the best for tomorrow Val, I think you are making the right choice. Lots of love and healing vibes to Spike, will keep an eye on this thread for updates x

Aww good luck spike - hope you get on ok at the vets &here's a huge bucketfull of healing vibes coming your way from the girls &I. Xx

Thanks for the thoughts. Spike is my avatar picture he is a lovely friendly guinea pig that took on a 2 year old recently bereaved guineapig in August last year as a companion. His sweet nature ensured there were no issues with the bolshy 2 year old and both have lived happily together since the introduction .I would rather not put him thro an op but feel it is worth a try. He is quite strong and is eating a pooing OK at present so if I delayed he may go down hill and not be strong enough for an op. I have got Critical Care syringes and Vit C ready for him after the op and everything crossed.

Good luck with the op, I hope he can be put right. Healing vibes on the way from Teesside.
