After loosing Bob on Friday Spike has been looking very sad and I've been trying to work out what to do for the best for him.
This evening I decided to bite the bullet and introduce Penny.
Penny hasn't been coping very well in my little herd since her sister moved in (after I lost George) and had been bullying Poppy. Over the last month she's gone from being top to bottom sow.
I wouldn't normal do intros like this but decided to pop Spike and Penny on the sofa and see how they reacted.
Both strolled over to each other, Penny gave Spike a wash, he did the same back then they snuggled down together and I manage to get this quick snap.

I coughed and made Penny jump and she just dived under Spike

After 1/2 hour on the sofa snuggled together I put them into Spike's clean house and they sat there happily munching hay together like they've always known each other. Spike even did a little popcorn.

Penny is Spike's fourth friend and first girlfriend (she's spayed) each intro has been so smooth with him, he's so chilled.
Fingers crossed it stays this way but I can't see anything changing, they been very happy together for a couple of hours now.
 
Aw thast so sweet, i love a happy ending. They are just beautiful! Fingers crossed it stays that way as you say...but from the looks of them they look so happy :D
 
Oh they are so beautiful. Penny reminds me of a bumblebee and Spike is just gorgeous! <3

How lovely they are so close already.

AWWW - it is magical when they just go together like that... Talk about love on first whiff! x)
 
It was just like they've always known each other.
They did live in neighbouring houses for a while but I never saw any intraction between them through the grids. Bob on the other hand loved Penny and would sit with his nose pressed up against the bars and she would just ignore him. I had to rearrange the set up in the end.
 
Aw that's lovely to hear that Spike and Penny are getting on so well, must be a load off your shoulders! Kisses to all the gang x
