Junior Guinea Pig
Hello,
My 4 year old boar Coco has somehow managed to split one of his bottom incisors, so it looks like he’s got 3 teeth (hope that makes sense) I’ve had him to the vet today and he has shaved down the bottom tooth (and also the top one too that matches it) but he said it just kept splintering. The break went right down to the root/gum. We are hoping as the tooth grows it will grow out normally however, worried that it may just keep breaking as it grows. Has anyone had any experience with this type of thing before?
He’s prescribed pain relief and also antibiotics, he didn’t say there was an infection but has prescribed them as precaution to avoid a possible abscess. My next question, are the antibiotics necessary? I hate them as they always seem to upset his tummy, I do have probiotics to hand but he just seems to have quite a sensitive tum.
Any help/advice appreciated.
Thank you
