When I told hubby I was going to get piggies, he told me not to expect his help with feeding etc, if I want them I look after them without him! Yeah, like I expected his help, half the fun is looking after them :))

Funny how, totally unasked he's started doing things with them! I've found him sat on the sofa cuddling them, and when I was taken into hospital 10 days ago he told me he'd them there veggies.

Yesterday he told me he'd given them breakfast veggies so I told him I usually just give veg at lunch and dinner. Apparently they wheeked at him so he had to :(|) Same thing this morning and now he's admitted he picks handfuls of grass for them at night as well. No wonder they wheek at him if he always gives them something. They have now trained us both to be their wheek slaves!

Today in the supermarket while I'm getting bags of spinach and curly kale for them, he goes and gets cucumber and lettuce. Spoilt piggies are getting a good selection for lunch and dinner!

Just in case they're not getting spoilt enough between us, I've just ordered them a 2kg bag of Burgess Excel blackcurrant and oregano. Oh and Johnsons Insecticidal shampoo incase the spot on stuff doesn't work (but don't tell them that :(|) )

So, are they spoilt?!?!

Gemma, Ginny and Saffy

Misty says well done to Ginny and Saffy! She is not sure they are spoilt enough yet - do they get treats each time they wheek?!

He he, they sound on their way to being spoilt, which is surely what each piggie dreams of!

:)) :)) :))

That is awesome. My hubby is starting to go down the exact same road. I got severely told off for buying my two and smuggling them in ... now he sits with them on his knee while he watches movies. Very sweet. inbreeding

I would say 9 times out of 10! Today it has been everytime cos poor things had spot on treatment :(

My boyfriend said the same thing. I had to do all the work. But now he feeds them, talk to them all the time. And has them on his lap.

They are so easy to love. x)

No one can resist the power of the wheek and those lovely lippies starting up at you, my boyfriend as also succombed to their power :))

I got in trouble too, cos I told hubby they were being given away as I genuinely thought they were, only to fimd the woman wanted money for them. Having driven for over an hour to get there going home without them was not an option :(|) Am sure he now loves them almost as much as I do x)

Ginny has started sticking her nose as far through the bars as she can and almost standing up. She looks like she's begging! I dare anyone to resist that :(|)

Haha, I love how they say that and then the piggies slowly work their magic. My OH has long been warned that when we get to a position where we can move in together it'll be me and umpteen (now 20) piggies. He said he didn't care as long as he didn't have to look after them. Well, he now has two girls of his own... So yeah! I don't think he'd mind helping with another 20 if/when the time comes! He's smitten with one of my lovely ladies anyway - she's the reason he now has two of his own.

Piggies, once they're in your life there's no escaping them! :(|)

You can never spoil piggies... they train you to think you SHOULD feed them every time they wiiiiieek at you :)) That's how you know you are a hooman piggy slave :)

OH was the same: "they are your pets, don't expect me to clean them or feed them or anything" rolleyes That was back in September last year when we got Coconut and Cinnamon.

Now...

EVERY night after work he brings a bag of grass and dandelion leaves home for them,

If we have undressed salad with out dinner, he lets them pinch bits of it,

He's researched what plants etc they can eat so he can pick some near the allotment where we get lettuce etc for them,

He baby talks at them, cuddles them, gives them kisses,

He cleans the poop and old bedding etc out of the cages and my job is to disinefect and put down new bedding, put the bowls back and do claws etc..

And, when they squeak at him during the night if they run out of hay/ water (he sleeps in here) he gets out of bed and gives them more of whatever it is that they are squeaking about.

We are both piggy slaves and love it!

The first time they wheeked at him, it was early morning and he'd gone out for a cigarette. Saffy went mad wheeking, and she has one helluva loud wheek, their trapdoor had fallen down so they couldn't get down for their breakfast. He made a latch that day so it will stay open. He adores them too now! Don't think we can ever be without piggies now x)

The girls have now been spoilt by the cosie lady, Auntie Laura! 2 cosies arrived in the post today, beautiful pretty cosies for my beautiful pretty girls and their purple and pink piggy palace :rose

Yestertday we bought them a huge gardeners poly sheet from Wilko and it's in place over their hutch and run. Now they can go out to their run in all weather and be kept nice and dry. Should help their hutch keep warm. Now I just need to explain to hubby that I need heat pads for them for winter. He grumbled the other day saying what have you bought the pigs now, an eiderdown and goose feather pillows :(|)

Why do piggies become so much more than pets? Do they hypnotise us maybe?!

Gemma, Ginny and Saffy xx

My husband has me in stitches when I hear him go past the piggie palaces and start with the piggie talk " Piggie wiggieeeeees!" :(|)

Sounds a bit like my hubby! He'll moan at me for spending money on them, but if he comes home from work and I've got them on my lap, he'll come over and kiss Ginny, the big softie rolleyes

He is coming over to the piggy side :3

My boyfriend prefers my rabbit, Rosie, to the piggy, McMac :P
But when we move out together McMac and Rosie are going to be living very close with us in the house so he soon might change his mind :(|)

My piggies have just got their own fridge to keep their fruit and veg fresh. It was in a right state, the wife looked at me as if I was demented when I brought it home. After an hour of blitzing the interior and T - cutting and polishing the exterior, it looks as good as new. She is that impressed, she's let me keep it in her gleaming kitchen instead of it going in the shed like it was supposed to! :)) :)) :))

All of these stories are SO familiar! My OH was dead set against me getting a pig in the first place. "NO RODENTS!" I believe was the phrase. Well, now they are the first thing he checks on in the morning, the last ones he says goodnight to. He talks to them, cuddles them and worries about them more than I do! Right now, he is singing to one of them (shhh).

Aha, Spoilt lil piggies !
My boyfriends mum told us if they smell they'll have to move out, and now everytime she comes home from shopping it's "I bought this for the piggies" and if we get home late we'll go upstairs and see her feeding the pigs there veggies!
I think piggies just have that way with people, how can anyone resist them, there little faces and little noises !

It scrubbed up quite well and along with the freezer I got as well, it's filled a hole under the bench quite nicely. ;)

Even the dog and cat food is kept here as well. ;)

Haha, all these stories are so familiar too! Daddy Pig baby talks to them worse than I do now!

and can I just say you have a fab kitchen Highway Man! :O

He he It's much the same in our house. OH desperately didn't want anymore piggies but once we got Hamish & Angus she has fallen in love with them again and even after a night shift or long day shift (she's a doctor) she comes in demanding cuddles from Suilvy or Hamish. She always has one on her lap or is nagging me to get them mroe hay/food/klet them out for a run etc.

They are just too cute to ignore....

One of my friends is in love too now so she has a pair of girls at work - she's a support worker for vulnerable adults and they wanted house pets. Guineas were the ideal choice.

They really are addictive/catching!
