I am a big fan of rescue animals, but for various reasons we were unable to adopt a rescue pig where we live at the moment.
And although I have talked about this quite a lot with the girls (aged 9 and 11), I really want them to understand that not everywhere is like here, and we should always consider rescue animals when we want a new (to us) pet.
So I was thinking we could sponsor a guinea pig somewhere.
Can anyone recommend a rescue that offers sponsorship opportunities?
Thank you.

Ooooh this is such a good idea. Why not phone some local rescues and ask about donating/sponsoring, I'm sure they'd be grateful for any help

Sadly/happily you don't get many guinea pigs in local rescue here.
Most boars are neutered before they reach sexual maturity, so this avoids a lot of accidental breeding.
The Swiss take all forms of pet ownership very seriously (oh how they love their rules), so rescues can afford to pick and choose who takes their animals - we were rejected because we have kids under the age of 12.
So I think it will probably need to be a UK based organisation.

Oh yeah I remember you saying before.

I found this

Perfect - thanks so much

Now I just need to get the girls to agree on a piggie (or maybe 2....).
I think it's amazing what they do. And at £10 a year they're not asking for much at all.
They're all suxh beautiful piggies it's suxh a shame they've been neglected so badly but I love how much this rescue are doing to help

TEAS run by @furryfriends (TEAS) offers sponsorship of its residents. Debbie offers sanctuary to piggies with dental issues and other issues requiring long term care and support. It w through TEAS and Debbie that I first learned about "lethal piggies". Here is the website The Excellent Adventure Sanctuary

£30 on sponsorship and spend over £20 on heir amazon wish list, sent them a big bag of hay, a pigloo and some treats. I just can't help myself when I see beautiful piggies in need. Little Lois really stole my heart, her little hind legs don't work and she may need them amputated :(
