Hi

Some of you will already know that me and my 10 year old daughter run Guinea Pig Shelter Norwich. We currently have all spaces filled with lots of guinea pigs on a waiting list to come in.

We have recently received a fantastic offer from a vet giving us the opportunity to have a lot of our boars castrated at cost. This will free up a lot of space as we can try and bond the boars with the sows, therefore allowing the other gps on the waiting list to come in.

My daughter would dearly like to do some fundraising to cover these costs but she cannot decide what to do.

She would like to ask for some ideas from forum members. We would be really grateful for ideas of what activity she can do, that she can be sponsored for, to raise money for the shelter.

Many thanks
Claire & Alicia

have you thought about hosting a open day maybe? A lodge (rescue home) in kent are doing this this weekend. here is their site

Could be a chance to raise funds though this?

Hi

We did consider this but I think she would like to do something were she can say she raised funds on her own merit.

She originally wanted to do a sponsor walk with a couple of her friends but I think she's hoping to do something a little different.

ah i see, something individual.

hmm, a sponsored swim, bike ride?

maybe a cake sale at her school?

i will get thinking and post any ideas!

Thanks but unfortunatley she can't swim or ride a bike. She's one of these children who's into science and literature so we're very limited when it comes to sporting activities.

A sponsored silence might be a good idea. I work as a childminder during the days so maybe it's something all the kiddies could get involved in. Certainly worth thinking about....thank you.

xx

sponsored disco? Where they have to dance for x amount of hours! We done this at school for 24 hours! very knackering!
