One of our piggies has been diagnosed with ringworm and the vet prescribed Sporanox twice a day.
Wondered what experiences people have of how long in general it takes to start to show signs of improvement/working... ?

This is the US equivalent of Itrafungol in the UK. Itrafungol is very effective. There are mixed opinions on the dosing of Itrafungol, some vets do a course for a set period of days straight - like 10 days, others use the same regime as treating a cat, which is a week on week off, for 4 weeks, and the medication continues to work on the weeks off.

Can I just clarify are you in Manchester in the US? not the UK? If so, please can you add this to your location on your profile.

Here is our Ringworm guide

Ringworm: Hygiene And Pictures

We're in the uk.
She didn't give a set time, said to come back when the bottle runs out so she can check him and decide.
I was wondering when I might possibly see signs of it starting to work...?

Oh ok, in which case my original thoughts were right that it is weird to prescribe Sporanox in the UK but then I thought, no they must be in the US. Oh well, in which case then it is similar to Itrafungol. How long has your pig been on it? and at what dose? The guide I linked to shows the different stages of Ringworm. Are you ok with all the hygiene precautions you need to take too?

Yup we're doing the hygiene precautions.
It's Sporanox/Itraconazole. He had his first dose Friday night 0.5ml, twice a day.
Just gave him what would be his 5th dose.

Yes that's the same ingredient as Itrafungol. It should definitely work, and that is the dose I was giving when I last used Itrafungol. I wasn't treating for Ringworm though.
