There's also the guinea pig vet in Matlock. I haven't tried them but their Facebook feed looks impressive
Chine house is about 40 minutes and Matlock about an hour... Good to have those 2 options tho - 3 if you count the one in Doncaster!

So... the lump is the same but worried about one of her eyes... one day it looks odd, other day it looks fine. So off to Chine House in Leicester on weds to see a vet who knows what they are talking about! The other vet in Doncaster is not taking on new piggies 😢

UP-DATE!

So off we went to CHINE House Vets Hospital in Leicester this morning to see Craig - well what can I say - great place and great VET! He did a thorough examination of all her body (Pippin) and concluded that:

The weird spot/lump is just a cyst - continue to keep monitoring it for any changes.

The problem with her eye is called Pea Eye ( common for GP ) no infection, eye sight good etc and he wasn't concerned or advised any treatment - Again carry on monitoring it.

He thought he heard a HEART Murmur - but he also couldn't be sure as Pippin was so nervous and trembling :( He said to listen for any issues when she is at home with her breathing - never noticed any issues but will again check this.

Only problem was me taking a wrong turn and adding an extra few miles onto the journey home! :mal:

I'm glad to hear you had a positive vet visit. Sending Pippin lots of good vibes, may the cyst not cause a problem and the heart murmur be a false alarm due to a nervous piggy.

So pleased to hear that things went well. Hopefully the heart murmur was just down to nerves. ❤

So glad it all went well. Yes, one of the reasons why I don't have hesitations about going to chine house when it's something more than my regular vet can deal with is Craig. Very seriously down to earth vet, knows what he is doing, is straight talking and explains everything. He is a very skilled vet and sometimes the cost is simply worth it. I hope Pippin has settled back at home and that it was just her nerves getting the better of her.

Thanks for the recommendation @Lady Kelly - definitely worth it - he was lovely and it was only £31 for the consultation which is what i paid to see the rubbish locum vet last week! I just liked how he checked her ALL over and did explain everything clearly as he went along! Pippin is scoffing some hay and had a nice nap earlier! x
