Hi.
I noticed that there are dark spots on my Guinea pig's nose. I tried to touch it and her nose is normal, no discharge and she didn't feel pain too when I ran my finger over the spots several times. Can someone help me what these are? Thank you! IMG_20190303_095623.webp

The photo is quite blurry so hard to see. My Daisy has a dark side to her nose from skin colouration. Other causes can be pellet dust/dirt (try wiping with a damp cloth), chellitius which would be small scabs or fungal which usually you would notice a dry skin look and some hairloss with too

@ishimercado have they always been there? Pigs can have different coloured patches of skin.

Could it be dirt or food? Have you tried washing it off?
Thank you for the response, it's gone now. Apparently, this piggie gets quite messy with her Alfalfa Hay and pellets 😂 for a moment there I was worried.

Glad it’s gone. We once paid for a vet consultation for the same issue only for the vet to clean it with damp cotton wool!

Luckily I was at the vets with daisy for a check up when she had had diarrhoea when I spotted a "scab" on her nose. The vet took a closer look and was like nope she's got poop on her nose :))
