Spray for mites.
My vet has just phoned me to say there is a new spray specially for piggies with mites ,same as ivomec but saves having jabs.Use at two monthly intervals I think.I am off to get some tomorrow.

i thought they could have it orally and there was no need for iabs anyway? :-\ does anybody have any more info on this? ?

I would NEVER use a spray near my guinea pigs, even if it was ivermectin (which I doubt it is). The last thing a pig with mites would need is irritation of their lungs from a spray. Ivermectin can be administered topically (my favourite) or orally - injections are not necessary.

Since it takes less than 2 weeks for mites to hatch from eggs and nothing can kill the eggs, I can't imagine two monthly intervals would do any good at all.

i personally wouldn't like to use a spray on my piggies. i know they have delicate respiritory tracts and i wouldn't want to run the risk of them inhaling it. O0 as daftscotslass said, you can use ivermection topically and oraly so there shouldn't be a need for injections or sprays. ;)

Sorry for sounding really thick (I'm a dumb a**), but does topically mean using a spot-on?
