Not sure if this is allowed (kindly delete if this breaks some rules). A rescue in Merseyside needs all the help they can get. Their Amazon wishlist is listed in the post.

I am also not in the UK (Switzerland) and find the easiest way to help rescues in other countries is to buy an item (or 3) from their Amazon wish-list or ask if they have Paypal and can accept a monetary donation.
Ok. I'll do that! :)

Ok I’m going to say this once and for all. You aren’t in Jamaica and I’m going to alter your profile to reflect this.
Ok. I just don't want people to know where i live because of privacy reasons. I'd just prefer for people to not know exactly where **edited by mod***

Well there are ways and there are ways. It’s not really acceptable to add a false location to your profile and then to perpetuate that falsehood with your posting.
Ok. I'd just like to be private. Sorry about this!

UK is enough for a location.
The issue with lying about it is that we can't help you and offer advice, and we waste our time giving you solutions to problems (how to help rescues, where to source cage items) that don't exist. No one is interested in where you live exactly - country is enough.

Ok. I'm sorry for faking my location!

:btt: Apologies @anyar.dris that your thread was derailed.

It is very sadly the case that every single guinea pig rescue I know is currently experiencing the highest ever number of requests for surrenders. Sadly pandemic pets are finding they are less welcome as the kids have returned to school and parents have returned to work. Add to that the annual phenomenon that happens when the clocks go back. People suddenly discover it’s no fun tending to pets in the cold and dark, so from late October the requests for surrenders gather a new pace. And then by late November the indoor piggies suddenly discover that they are taking up space needed for large family gatherings and the pre Christmas clear out happens. It’s the same every year but this autumn has got off to a worse start than usual due to the abundance of pets acquired during the pandemic lockdowns.

I don’t know much about this rescue, and they aren’t on our approved list. Members are of course free to adopt from wherever they choose. If anyone does make contact with them, please suggest that they consider answering our forum rescue questionnaire so that we can consider giving them our “approved” seal that would reassure members.

No worries @VickiA 👍

I don't particularly know much of this rescue but hubby's daughter (or someone she knows) I believe has adopted cats from them in the past. Hopefully if someone will contact them or adopt from them, they can suggest to be on our approved list here.

It’s such a shame, all the rescues are completely overstretched because people have now grown bored of their lock down pets 😞

Yes many rescues are sadly currently overwhelmed, this isnt one we have on our radar at our uni in Liverpool either, we have a list of local animal rescue places approved for student work experience placements but not heard of this one, perhaps it is new? Or doesnt take volunteers?
