Sprouting Shoots

I used to give these to both my bunnies and piggies, is it still OK to feed them freshly sprouted shoots or is that a no no?

I give mine Cereal Grass but rather than sprout it I find it easier to grow in compost. When I was sprouting it I was getting problems with mould (which was my fault I know but it was taking me too long to 'rectify' it). See Planet Guinea

Breeders and some rescues feed their guineas with 'sprouted/home grown Cereal Grasses. I feed them when they're about 8 cm high :)
