Spurs

So just a question really. My piggies always seem to get spurs on their feet. Never caused any trouble, and so far never got caught or pulled off (though I do trim them every now and again when cutting nails).

My question can pigs get these on their lips?!

Steve seemed to have one on his bottom lip hanging down which I noticed yesterday. Was exactly like the ones I've seen on their feet. Yet today I've returned home from work and it's gone! No sign of blood and where it was is clear just a bit pink like skin (not sore/indicating wound) literally just looks like it's fallen off.

Is this normal?

No, guinea pigs don't get spurs on the lips; it sounds like something has dried and then fallen off.

If you see scabs on the skin and nose, please stop feeding fruit and tomato and see a vet for cheilitis (lip infection).
