I have two, 1 year old boars. I don't know exactly how old because they are rescues. Bob is very quiet, but is definitely the most dominant. Barry is very vocal with Bob. I have been reading up on dominance behaviour but am confused. Barry is the one that does all the rumblesrutting, hip waggling and noise making, yet Bob only has to nudge him or chase him and Barry is off, making lots of noise as he does. Is Barry just trying to big himself up against Bob? It just seems like Barry antagonises Bob to react, even though Barry will run off in the end. Thanks. ☺

You are right, Barry is just doing the usual boar wind-up, but he cannot stand up to Bob whenever he bestir himself. I would not worry at all. it sounds like a very normal and stable boar bond to me.

Oh thank you @Wiebke . I just couldn't understand why Barry would antagonise Bob when he's clearly the submissive one. Typical teenage boy I suppose, full of bravado until challenged. ☺
