Our gorgeous boy Squeak made his way to the rainbow bridge on Saturday 25th October, at the age of 4 1/2 years old. We are absolutely heartbroken.
Squeak joined our family, along with his brother Bubble in April, 2021.
Squeak had not ever been poorly until 2 weeks ago, when he was diagnosed with stasis and a bladder stone. Very sadly he didn't get stable enough to have the chance of having the stone removed.
Squeak was such a character and although early on it seemed that he was going to be the dominant piggy. he took it all in his stride when Bubble took over. He was such a chilled out piggy. but would soon let you know when he had had enough with his health checks and cuddles, and would tug on my clothes to let me know he wanted to go back in his cage. Once when he was doing this, he somehow got hold of my bra strap and let it go with a loud thwack! The look on his face, I'm sure he was smirking!
In the early days of being with us, I would put him and his brother in their pen whilst I cleaned their cage out (instead of now when I do one half, whilst they are in the other half of the cage).....when Squeak decided he wanted to go back home, he would circle the "piggy aeroplane" (cardboard tube) and make gentle squeaking noises, to let me know that he was ready to board his return flight home.
When Bubble and Squeak were younger we used to give them the Living World Teach 'n' Learn toy to play with. Bubble would lift the lids off, and whilst he was being tidy and carrying them down to stack at the other end of the cage, Squeak would munch on the goodies which had been found.....that's what you call teamwork!
Squeak would hay surf and wheek with delight when fresh hay had been put in their cage!
Squeak gave the bestest nose nuzzles and kisses, and was a real little gentleman/pig!
Can't believe you've gone, Squeakie Wheakle.....we miss you terribly.
Sleep tight darling Squeak, and popcorn high at the rainbow bridge.
We will meet again someday. Love you always
