Squeaking piggy

had Polly 1 week today and hold her everyday for stroking and cuddles, she no sits on my chest and squeaks away gently. Does this mean she is warming to me now?

P.S what is popcorning? have seen it mentioned a few times and not sure what it means

It sounds like Polly is happy.

Popcorning is an individual mix of running and jumping; each piggy has its own style. Piggies popcorn when they are very happy and comfy in their surroundings.

Perhaps you may consider getting Polly a same sex companion? You will find that that she will be a lot more vocal and "popcorny" when she has a friend to play with. Guinea pigs are herd animals and are not really wired to be on their own.
The best way to make sure that Polly can choose herself who she wants to live with is by finding a good rescue that will bond her under expert care with a piggy she shares an instant liking with. If you give us your area, we can give you recommendations.

Until then, please get her a soft cuddly toy to snuggle up with.

I will do thanks, we are discussing saving upand getting a bigger enclousre for her and a friend to xx can she have a normal teddy or does it have to be designed for pets? xx

She sounds happy! Popcorning with my boys looks like a jump while they are twisting their heads. As for the Teddy, just make sure she doesn't chew the stuffing out or it has hard eyes. If she chews stuffing out, take out the stuffing then replace it with bedding. Sew it back up and it is as good as new!
