This is my female guinea pig Squeak, I love her billions and she's the best guinea pig I've ever had.
She got her name because we was in the car on the way back from collecting her from the store and she would not stop squeaking whilst my other guinea pig (Bubbles) who has passed away just snuggled up! I was like her name is squeak.
Has anyone else's guinea pig got a story behind their name ?

(Michelle) Awwwww she is lovely. John named the boys Guiness and Samedo. Guiness because of his markings and because his is a guinea pig daddy who loves a pint of Guiness and Samedo after a player in the football team he supports (Sheffield Wednesday)... boys!

Ahah boys will be boys ! Although very cute names and such awesome stories behind them !

For my current piggies, we chose the names before we bought them. We'd just been discussing pet names and I really liked two, so when we eventually bought them, they just stuck.

Previous guinea pigs have had meanings behind their names though.
Pumpkin was a ginger Dutch, and so named after the colour of her fur (which was really orange when she was little).
Muffin was a long haired breed, and looked quite 'scruffy' and a bit of a 'ragamuffin'.
Raincloud was a white long haired piggy, who was really very fluffy and looked a bit like a cloud. We also considered calling her Kapoc (toy stuffing) for the same reason.
Poppy was named because she 'popped out' (we had inadvertently bought Raincloud pregnant as the breeders hadn't separated males and females quickly enough).

I had a Peruvian called pebbles cos of the hair on the top and a ginger texel( in my avatar) called fizz after the corrie character. My daughter's two are salt and pepper , salt is white with himi markings and pepper is a peppery grey colour.

@Jade_bear Squeak is gorgeous, and I like you story, though it's sad about sweet Bubbles. Sometimes a piggy comes along and somehow they are extra special, and it sounds like you've found areal sweet-heart :)
@DoragonHinansho Now that has to be the cutest ever piggy-lip photo I have ever seen, and I'm completely serious! Sorry too that Cookie has made her journey to the Bridge.

We named our first pig was Shadow as she was a very nervous neglected re-home piggy, who hid in the shadows and was almost black, so she blended in. I very quickly bought a baby ginger and white Teddy-pig and called her Sunrise, as she was a warm colour and she brought a bright happy new era to Shadow's life. Then along came Cloud from a friend's litter, so named because I decided to keep the weather theme going and she was a black and white Roan, part Abby and part Lunky, so all fluffy-random fur like a cloud. Snowball was a loved re-home from a good home, already named Snowball and fit right in with the scheme, though I didn't get her for her name. It was pure coincidence. Penny and Freddy were already named, so I just kept their names.
