I've got an appointment at the vets for 2:30. Went into open the hutch and give the piggies brunch an hour ago (I'm usually later on Sundays due to being at church), Squeaks didn't come out for the grass and wasn't interested when I picked him up and offered nuggets.
I went back a bit later, had to pick him up to get him to take his metacam, and he did take a couple of nuggets then. But Squeaks is never not interested in grass or nuggets, so something must be up. He was normal at 11pm last might when I gave him his medicine and tucked them in, so it must have come on overnight. I xan hear slight breathiness and popping from his nostrils ... He did pass one poop when I put him back in the hutch, so that's positive I hope.

Emergency consultation is £155+? but I don't think it can wait until Monday morning.

Please send him lots of healing vibes ! 🙏

Oh no. I think you’re right - I would also be seeing the emergency vet as this is such a sudden change. Please let us know how he gets on.

Fingers firmly crossed for Squeaks!

There are massive vet personnel shortages and medical price hikes due to shortages as well as energy costs... :(

Thanks everyone.
Still waiting at the vets.. their computer has just crashed so they have to sort that first
Is it most likely a URI, or could it be pneumonia with the popping breathing?.

Sending healing vibes x

Healing vibes to Squeaks and hugs to you

We're just back from the vet, she couldn't find anything obviously wrong. His chest and temperature were normal, he wasn't doing the breathiness or popping sound while there.
She prescribed Baytril 0.5ml twice daily, he already is on metacam.
He didn't enjoy his first dose, I hope most of it went in :D. Whatever is up, I hope the meds will nip it in the bud. He did start to eat some meadow hay when I put him back in his hutch 🤞 Later on I'll try him with some more grass, and weigh him. I was also given some syringe food in case.

Wishing you all best! Piggies are soo good at suppressing symptoms when at the vet's. :(

Thanks everyone. Good news from the piggie room tonight, Squeaks was up at the bars when I went in at veggie time, and tucked into his blueberry and lettuce leaf pretty normally. I wasn't able to get any grass during the afternoon as it was chucking it down all afternoon. But tomorrow I will weigh him and start syringe feed if it looks like he's not eating enough hay.

Glad to hear. Hope he continues to do well!
