Oh my, this is the sort of thing I was worried about when my Peanut Butter recently developed lumps! Fortunately for PB he had 2 sebaceous cysts and they have both disappeared now. I really hope Smudge continues to heal well and that hole is completely gone soon.

It is looking good, I remember when my poor boy had an abscess on his Jaw, he had about 3 or 4 different holes, it was so upsetting, but they soon healed and the fur soon grew back and now you would never know. xx

it is looking alot better now than a few days ago and hes happy enough so I'm not too worried :) xx

Excellent News. How far along are you with getting him a friend? If i remember likely you had decided you were going to but were going to wait a little while first....? Might be wrong.

xx

i haven't fully decided on a friend for him yet, he's always been an only pig and hes' quite happy with that also i have 2 children of my own so sometimes find it hard to give him the time so i don't know if i could cope with 2 xx

With 2, you wouldn't need to devote AS much time to them as they will have each other for company, so wont need as much attention. Many people think their piggies are happy enough, then when they see them with another piggie they cant believe the difference. I am not trying to tell you to get him a friend, its your choice and you are doing a fab job with him! xx

i would like another one i will just have to think about it, added costs to and already stretched budget plus my partner is not a big fan anyway is one of the few things holding me back xx

Thats fair enough hun, after we had our first 2, my OH took a lot of persuading to get the next 2, but he wouldn't have it any other way now! To see them all as a group happily playing with each other and cuddling up, he always go's aw, as if i didn't want anymore, i cant imagine our lives without them now :)) And with regards to costs...... we all worry but we just find a way, so dont let it put you off. But obviously you have to be sure and you have to be happy, so dont rush into anything. x

its something i will definitely be thinking about cos i would like to see him with another :) xx

if i was to get another pig would i need to get a bigger cage? smudge is in a rabbit cage at the minute and there is more than enough space for him but would their be for 2? xx

What cage is it? What Size? Post a picture if you can, the minimum for 2 boars is 2' x 5'. keep an eye on gumtree and ebay for second hand ones, otherwise C&C cages are far cheaper than buying a new shop bought cage, and they are far more versatile too, you can make any shape out of them, change them. Perhaps take a look in the housing section.

xx

just gave it a quick measure and its 21 inch by 37, roughly, i will try and post a pic later xx

Ok, so its just over 3' in length, so you'll need a bigger cage for 2, but as i said you often find bargains on gumtree or ebay. xx

i was hoping you wasn't going ton say that, i only live in a small house and the cage we have now takes up alot of room, poo :( xx

Glad to see the abscess is healing well. They can be worrying. My cat had a huge one on his neck where he must have been bitten, but it healed up lovely and you would never know he'd had one now.
