Does anyone use a kiddy/stare gate to keep their piggies in one place?

We are looking at putting one in at the kitchen door where the boys have their floortime, to keep them in. The kitchen door doesn't close properly and if you try to shut it, Angus can open it with his nose.... Both him & Struan are escapologists and will try anything to get out.

We currently use a couple of grids from their outdoor playpen but they are 60cm high and one of us is going to fall over as we climb over them one day... So we are looking at putting a gate in so we can open and close it for access but keep them safe. I just need to find one with bars that are close enough together that they can't squeeze through or get stuck. I might have to modify it...

Has anyone bough or used one for piggies? Ideas welcome!

could you not just secure grids to gate with cable ties so still opens.

That might work. Our grids are massive and tall as Angus can jump over smaller ones but I think maybe I could find some smaller grids or mesh to make the gaps more secure.

We have two, mostly to stop our dogs running amuck when we are out! But I have used them in the past to keep the the piggies in spare room during floor time. You will have to be careful as to the width though, as my smallest and thinnest piggy managed to squeeze herself through and come wandering into the hallway looking for more noms. This winter I plan to use the lid from their outdoor run which I can prop up against the door instead, it is a bit more of a faff to pass through but easier than having an escapologist on the loose!

EDIT: Sorry I didn't read your initial post carefully enough - missed the bit about meshing the bars!
