Adult Guinea Pig
For those who have seen my other threads about Star will know that the beginning of August she showed signs of paralysis. She was dragging her back legs shuffling forward on basically her forearms.
A visit to the vet (after trying the Peter Gurney calcium treatment) resulted in an anti inflam injection to the neck.
She showed great improvement in movement within days and the vet was very happy.
Following our break down to weymouth she seems to have come back a new "woman".
She has slimmed down from her peak of 1030 grams to 915 grams (she had dropped to 840 grams) but is a lot more active.
In fact during her recovery Twinkle and Cosmos have taken advantage trying to see who was new top dog while Astro played the male card and dozed while watching on.
Well Star is now back and humping anything that moves, even Astro. Indeed Astro our big 1350 gram boar has literally fled the advances of Star, while star was still clinging to his back.
The others may all be a year or under but our 3 year old Star has firmly established that she is back and queen of the herd.
