I am heartbroken to announce we had to say goodbye to Star today. She had dropped a large amount of weight over a short period of time and it was decided that it would be kindest to let her go to ensure that she did not suffer. We first suspected end stage heart or renal failure but the vet found a mass on her abdomen and she had started to spot blood so we think it was likely a tumour on her kidneys. She was happy right up until the end and had in fact become a lot more cuddly. She joined us in 2010 at about 18 months old and so that would have made her about 6.

Our biggest memories of her:

- Giving evils to any pig in her favourite bed until they moved
- Waiting with Barley for her veg at the grids every night and barging him
- Confusing Ellie by getting out the back of the pigloo so she wondered where she had gone
- Being a nightmare with her heart meds

My favourite photo was actually taken a few days ago and the second photo is her waiting for veg with Barley.

I am going to name a star after her like we did with Nigel and I have booked an appointment to have a Star tattooed on my wrist in September.

Night night angel, this was probably the hardest decision I have ever made but it was 100% the right one.

The lovely things you wrote about her made me smile. She sounds like a cheeky character that will be missed immensely. Sorry for your loss. RIP beautiful Star :bye:

Yep not the best timing, but luckily Tim seems to be doing well, though I have booked him in at Cat and Rabbit for the week Simon and Kim are back just for a check up.

Helen, I am so sorry for you both. She was such a beauty and sounded a huge pigsonality to have around the place. It is clear the love you had for her and she obviously reciprocated that. Massive hugs to you and Ross. x x x

Sleep well pretty Lady

RIP Star
