She's still staring me

Has she just arrived in your care? She might still be nervous of you - guinea pigs freeze when they are scared. My advice is to quietly walk away if she does this again for longer than two minutes, please don’t stare her out as this with frighten her even more.

Na she's with me since June she never did all this before but shes fine now lol thanks for the advice I seriously used to do a stare contest with her when she did that

What a gorgeous piggy! Mine sometimes stare at me when they want a treat and they know it’s close to veggie time, but never for that long. I’d make sure she has a comfy hidey to feel safe in just in case she’s feeling afraid.

Mine are always staring at me with the hope I've brought them some food, they live on their fat bellies! :))
My rats are bad for stairing for food, on ehas been weighed in 100g over the max healthy weight today... Oops

My boy Finn and Lara do the same. They stare at me and follow me in their cages. I sit and pet them, hand feed cilantro or other veggies until their need for attention is satisfied. I sometimes sleep with them when they need me to.
I want my piggies happy so I give them all the attention they seek, give them the best food and care I can.

Mine always stare at me when i come in to feed them, they just keep staring until i hand over the veggies, then they are satisfied.
What spoiled piggies :doh::love:

If they hear someone even washing the vegetables or opening the fridge they wheek so loud after that u can't live peacefully unless u hand them something to eat lol

Need help. She's been sitting and staring me for 4 how's now not like continued staring but most of the time and is not eating done of the food with much enthusiasm like bell peppers and hay. She's pooping fine and is walking fine. She's not puffed up but she's just sitting and staring me even though we bring her food she doesn't eat it much and starts staring again any advice?

Hello
As I told earlier in a previous thread my sow used to sit and stare and me alot since some days
But now since 4 hours she's been sitting quietly and staring me alot more! Like she is not even reacting with enthusiasm towards food anymore. She just sits and stares me quietly for a good long time. We brought her many things to eat but she eats a little and then starts staring me again. She just ate some wheatgrass properly without any problems. No she's not puffed up. She walking fine with some little popcorning in between. She is a little bit cold to touch very little. She's very quite today. Any help would be accepted yes we talked to the vet on the phone he told us he can't attend her today as he is out of the city for weekend. What should I do.

If she is living alone, she might be craving for attention, which likely could lead to depression.
If she is not eating in addition to what you described, she might be depressed.

My boy Finn and Lara live separately but they do nose rubbing, sharing toys with their own smell, living next to each other keeping company and etc.
I also spend large amount of time with them with hand feeding, petting them, holding them, cleaning out their cages, sitting with them and sometimes sleeping in their room.
Mine are never truly alone.

Hi @Ritika did you know that guinea pigs often sleep with their eyes open? So she might look like she's staring at you but actually she's taking a nap!

That had crossed my mind too @PigglePuggle. Dennis can quite often be found in the "lights are on but nobody's home" zone! 🤣 :))

What does it mean when a female piggies rumbles at another female? And what it mean when a male piggies rumble at the other male

Welcome to the forum @Dezlovesyou
Rumbling is a dominance behaviour and perfectly normal.
It's the way piggies tell each other who's top pig - or who wants to be top pig.

In the behaviour section there is some good information about what different types of dominance behaviour mean, and also what to look out for if normal behaviour becomes unusual

If you have questions it's helpful if you start your own thread in the relevant section.
If you add to someone else thread it's possible that your question / post will be missed and that would be a shame.
