We started using fleece as bedding because Misty and Brandy's feet were really red with the woodshaving (Misty's alot better now. Started eating celery and carrot not cut up) Anyway the fleece has helped with their feet but when we change them the loose bits of hay is stuck to the wet fleece and it's a bit of a mess. Just wondering if we could be using too much hay or if there's an easier way of using fleece.

Thanks :)

I had the same problem, I used fleece and vetbed but the cage looked a mess all the time and no matter how much i shook it, hay still got stuck to it! We found that using a dustbuster helped :) and maybe put hay in a rack so there isnt too much on the fleece? x

I have this trouble! No matter what I do with the hay, put it away from the fleece or in a hay rack, Peggy pulls it all out and drags it around. I don't mind washing the fleece more often, but when I can't get all the hay off, it stays in the washing machine and sticks to the clothes in the next load! So annoying!

I used to use fleece. You just need to brush the hay off with a stiff brush (from a dustpan & brush set) or hoover it with a hand-held vacuum cleaner. :)

a good idea to save ruining the washing machine with blockages of hay, is to put all bedding in an old pillow case, and tie it with a twistie, washing it that way keeps everything in the pillow case x

Thanx Maisy! Thats a brilliant idea!

My vet bed should be arriveing in a few days. Can't wait to try it!

Someone on ebay is selling a Horsewear washbag which you could put your vetbed in . It says it acts as a filter to stop the hairs from clogging the machine

the seller on ebay is ak_online kingdom. The shop is called Animal Kingdom. They are selling them for £8.99 plus postage.

Just tried washing my fleece in a pillow case and it works! Thanx for the advice!
