Starting introductions!

So good to see everything going well.
Sounds like a successful bonding.
Don’t panic if there’s still some countering and lunging for a few days while they all settle into their new home.
Enjoy the herd
Clearly my iPad doesn’t understand the word ‘chuntering’ as it was corrected without my agreement!
Gave my self a vision of piggies counting out their pellets to make sure everyone got the same amount.

I was actually seeing countering like jousting piggy snouts parrying a lunge, which is what Puggle does to Piggle all the time, even though they are my original pair and have been together since birth- they still have a good nose-jabbing/parrying fencing match occasionally!

Thank you, that's good to know. At least I hope the worst is over now :-)

Yes how exciting, you made a herd! There might be a couple of weeks of mild scuffles while they work things out, like anyone moving in with new people, but unless there is obvious bullying or biting just hold onto those nerves of steel you developed today and let them work it out :)
Thank you, I'll stay strong! 😊

So an update! We have a herd!
7 hours after introductions they all moved in together! We all picked up a piggie each, and in order of what we suspected to be the hierarchy, we added them to the new enclosure.
They behaved like they couldn't care less about each other for about 20 mins, running about, exploring, nibbling things! :-) After that, they seemed to calm, and some little pink feet were stretched out while one or two had a very brief lie down and rest. Then they were up again, chirruping away to each other now and again, seeming quite happy :-) One of the new girls even did some zoomies and they all popcorned a few times too!
I suspect it's the largest, softest, and nicest home the young ones have seen in their lives, so they seem really excited by it 😍 I didn't see any more aggressive behaviour from the trouble maker, only occasional nose butts - I'm really hoping it's not going to return to what it was hours ago. Fingers crossed they'll all be really happy together from now on 😊
Thank you so so much to all of you who helped me successfully get through today. I am very grateful, and couldn't have done it without you all giving advice and support here. ❤️🙏

Ah bless you. What a wonderful end to the day and a fantastic achievement by you and your piggies. It's an amazing experience having a herd & I look forward to seeing their dynamics as they get used to each other ❤.

Oh yaaay! :yahoo: Well done! Hopefully your herd would stay forever from now on. Bonding is stressful. I only have trios, but the first ever trio I had took almost 2 months to get on. The top sow Deedee wouldn't let the new boar Timmy be the boss. Eventually, Timmy gave up challenging her for the position. Meemee was the other piggy and the bottom pig. I cried a few times during those time coz I was so worried they won't get on and I wouldn't want to give back Timmy to the rescue! Stressful times! 😂

Congratulations on your herd! So happy it went so well for you :) I understand how nerve wracking it can be, I brought my two boys home and the hierarchy was very clear from the start but my dominant boy would still assert his dominance for hours, they’re the best of friends now :)

Hope everything is still happy with your herd
Thank you! Yes, they all seem lovely and relaxed with each other today. They were all jostling to get to me for their breakfast pellets, and I've not seen any aggression like was seen yesterday. Nothing worse than the normal day to day things like occasional rumblestrutting or nose butts when one gets in the way of another or is being moody! :-) They have been napping in the same area of the enclosure, despite lots of space, and zooming and popcorning again today - lovely to see how happy they are.
