Static Lice/Mites Treatment

One of my piggies has static lice/mites. Not bothering her at all. She has had them before and I used the Beaphar range and it solved the problem (vet advised as it was cheaper than prescription). However there seems to be a National shortage and I can’t find any of that (or ivectermin) without paying silly money. Does anyone have any ideas? Or online places that don’t cost the earth? Thanks

Hi, if you’re in the UK, you can get the 1% ivermectin from the Farriers website. You can also trim some of her fur off where they are worst. Hope that helps.

Ivermectin is in shortage and unfortunately has been for a long time now, but vets can prescribe a selamectin based products.

You also need to disinfect the cage and cut the hair off to remove as many eggs as possible to help shorten the infestation
