Does anyone have any advice ,I have taken on these two beautiful black sows, they were being kept in very cramped conditions on a bed of straw, one has the snuffles, they are so nervous so we are taking it slowly with them.Apparently they were going to be used as show piggies, but they had a few stray red hairs so were no good ? ?,anyway they have been to vets who says they are healthy enough, however he has asked to seem them in 2 weeks to Ivomec them, not sure if they need this?I have orderd various products from Chrissie, but there may be a delay because of postal strike.I hoped they could eventually be introduced to my 3 remaining girls ,but until I am sure that they are healthy I will resist.Does anyone have any advice? :) :)sx

No such thing as static mites- do you mean static lice? Check Chrissie's page :)

Static Lice

Static Lice are actually tiny Mites that feed off skin debris and adhere to the outer half of the hair shaft, often around the rump. They often come in with hay - hence they are sometimes known as Hay Mites. Eggs are also laid on the hair shaft and look like small dust particles on a light-coloured pig. These are the least damaging of the Parasites.

Lice 'n' Easy shampoo will quickly deal with the problem as these are external parasites. Ivomec is not required as Static Lice are not blood suckers.

this came from Chrissies site http://www.gorgeousguineas.com/parasitic.html

I would recommend this ladies advice
