I am a geek. There I said it. I like stats.

The software of the forum gives lots of interesting stats like post counts, registrations etc... this is what I use to see how we are performing as a forum against previous years and months.

Competition these days from Facebook is strong, but we have something to offer alongside all those groups that exist. We have our community, our friendliness and support.

I wondered if there would be interest in me sharing our monthly stats on the forum so we can all see how the forum is performing? And hopefully inspire us to make it more lively and interactive.
I have a few ideas this year on improving the site a little and also regular online parties which have proved great fun in past.
The new update seems to have gone well with increased reactions and new emoticons, and the alert system is better than ever I feel.

So if you are interested in stats of forum i’ll Start posting monthly updates in this section

The more stats the better! Like... did you know that blue ringed octopus are bisexual and will mate with females only 50% of the time even in a tank where its 2 males to 4 females? So random chance would suggest the male would pick a lady partner 80% of the time... but he chooses the boyfriend in 5 out of 10 rather than 2 out of 10 matings... I love random statistics! Sorry complete digression there but I'm happy to spam @sport_billy 's stats reports with a random animal stats factoid of the week if it will boost his stats. Unless he doesnt want. But who doesnt love a bisexual octopus love story?! With statistics?! And then a forum party. I could wear my octopus hat that my students made me :)

I'm a Quality Assurance Manager, and as such I'm also a bit of a geek for performance monitoring, so please post the stats, it would be really interesting.

I've actually left all the Facebook guinea pig groups. Not the pages for specific rescues, but the general groups. I find them frustrating, annoying and you can never access information, when you need to, as things disappear down the page so quickly. I worried a while ago that Facebook groups would take over and the forum would decline, but I'm pleased to see that hasn't been the case.

Like @furryfriends (TEAS), i have also left a few of the Facebook general groups. You get a lot of trolls and also people posting stuff completely unrelated to the group. Facebook are also very slow to react to reports of inappropriate posts.

Here on the forum everyone is generally friendly, even when disagreeing people tend to be polite. The mods and admin are also very good at dealing with any issues that arise.

In response to the original question - Yes please to the stats.
