Little Stevie had had a fairly large tumour come up just below his ear, luckily the vet thinks is benign. He's in tomorrow to have it removed. Luckily it's all external and none of it is internal and the vet thinks it's easily removed.

He lives with two wives and I've noticed since he came back from the vets the other day Luna hasn't left his side. I've been watching them and she's been grooming him but staying away from the tumour. So sweet to see. I'm wondering if i should take her the vets with him tomorrow?

Take them along and see what the vet says. Some of them are happy to let pigs have company whereas others prefer them being on their own so they can monitir their eating and pooping easier.

Sending lots of healing vibes and lots of luck, hope everything goes well for him.

I would take them both. My vet encourages it as it helps with the recovery. All the very best for Stevie tomorrow

I always take them in pairs when we go to the vet, but then we haven't been through an operation.
Good luck tomorrow.

How is he doing this evening? Sending lots of healing vibes

I've had him in my small post op cage next to my bed overnight. Put him on a clean squishy bed and surrounded him with food. I could hear him eating all night and he's a lot brighter this morning. Poops are normal and he's been at his dry feed. He's taking some critical care from a spoon without me forcing it to. I've offered him the water bottle and he's took a fair bit of that to (laced with but c).Seems more like himself this morning; purposely turning his head when I try and give him a kiss pffffft that's gratitude for you!

So good to see him looking perky. :luv:Eating and drinking are always good indicators that he's not in pain and feeling good. Just watch his poops for an indication of how his guts are moving. And as for refusing your kisses - well, honestly - you did send him to the vets but I'm sure he won't bear a grudge for long.

Steve has been for his check up today and the vets happy. He's back in a week because his weight has dropped slightly. He's happy enough atm with his girlies

Stevie has been for his second check up, unfortunately because the incision is in the most awkward place possible as he's reaching under for poops it opened up. That being said me and the vet have agreed not to resell it as its scabbed over on its own, isn't bleeding and is healing well. His weight dropped by a fair bit but he's out half back on over the last few days. So all pretty positive. Huzzah!

Unfortunately Steves lump came back Luckily though he's gone under again and had it removed again and come through absolutely fine. We're hoping this time it doesn't come back. If so we're gonna have to look at sending him to the giant cucumber in the sky.

I was just reading your thread. Our little one had to go to heaven today. Hope it stays away this time and wish him a speedy recovery.

Sorry to hear that

Hopefully it won't grow back this time. He's doing fine this morning bright and up and about stuffing his face. I don't half think he's a robust little fighter! Any other pig and two ops in ten days would have been a no no.

Poor little mite. I really hope it doesn't come back this time. Keep fighting little Stevie.

Poor mite! I sincerely hope that he is recovering well?
