I went out last night to give my girls their night time feed and noticed that one or both of them had sticky squashy poops. There was quite a pile of squashed poop in the hay tray. They were also odd shaped and soft elsewhere in the cage as well. I put probiotics all over their veg last night and gave them tons of extra forage to promote extra fibre intake. They had normal meadow hay, readigrass and timothy hay in a toilet roll tube and their normal pellets.

Further investigation this morning it transpires that it was Daisy that has squishy poos as her bum is all dirty. She was sat in the hay try nibbling hay this morning. The poops in the cage have much improved this morning. Have been out with probiotics mixed in water to syringe feed to them. Both girls have had probiotics today and I will give more this evening.

Is there anything else that I need to do or can do today for them?

I also assume that they can have no grass or veg today? This will upset them as they love grass on clean out day.
She doesn't look ill at all and is acting her normal self eating a running around etc. Also assume that I don't need a vet urgently today?
Thanks

I would give her plenty of fluids and like you say don't give her any grass or veg for at least 24 hours, 48 if needed. The probiotics will help and try to encourage her to eat as much hay as possible. A cardboard tube from a loo roll will help too.

Please take Daisy off any fresh food for a day or two until her poos have firmed up again. Make sure that she is still drinking and if necessary offer her additional water. Start syringe feeding as soon as a piggy is off its food or is losing more then 50g in a short time. WEigh daily at the same time whenever you are worried about her weight/food intake instead of the weekly weigh-in.

See a vet if the poos don't firm up or if she has more episodes and it is not just a little tummy upset.

Thanks guys. She really will hate me for no grass and veg today!
I will continue with the probiotics for a few days and make sure she has plenty of fluids today.
Will give them lots of yummy hay and timothy hay treats today to make up lots of fibre and to ask forgiveness for no grass.
