Ok as you know i sent a thread about jasmine with a sticky eye? well i used saline soloution and it seemed to have cleared it up but i have notticed she is still squinting her eye a bit its no longer looks sticky but looks watery a bit and she keeps squinting her eye.....i thought it had cleared up but i am now thinking about taking her to the vet about it tho it doesnt seem as bad as it was.

There was definitely nothing in the eye? They usually squint when it is still light-sensitive or a bit sore. A vet check would be worthwhile to make sure there's no lasting injury on the eye.

Good idea going to the vet - there could still be something lurking under the lid; or her eye is still very sensitive.

well i have just called the vets and i have to call tomorrow see if i can get a appointment then. i cant see anything in the eye just a little bit dry crusty her eye itself is shiny but i know it still isnt quite right. another problem i am gonna see the vet about it them itching and they do this quite alot as they lived in a group outside before i got them i wanna make sure they dont have mites or somthing.

It would be worthwhile treating them for a possible mite problem because, on occasions, mites can cause the eyes to water as they irritate the skin around the eye. I would recommend treating your pig against lice, these too can cause irritation around the eyes.

ok i just took jasmine to the vets today and the vet said she has a bit of conjunctivitis he said i did the right thing with the saline soloution that he would advise clients to do that before they brought their pet in to see them. jasmine has been giving eye ointment to be applyed two times a day. so it should get better. thank you all for the advice you all gave me. :)
