sticky eye

Hi all i awoke thismorning to my darling jasmine having a sticky eye it had sorta a clear gunky affect to it at first she found it hard to open the eye but to my relief she opened it but i am still a bit concerned later i am going to put some saline solution and dab it on see if that helps.....any idea what this could be?
 
She could have something stuck in her eye under the lid; best take her to the vets. they can check whether there is ulceration to the surface of the eye.

Thankfully, eye infections clear up as dramatically as they come on.
 
Does sound like an eye infection or injury, both would lead to such symptoms. An antibiotic ointment - either chloramphenicol drops or a product called Fucithalmic Eye Drops - will likely be prescribed.
