I’m not good at explaining but bare with. My guinea pig is and has been through some health related issues lately since he turned 3 years old.

A few weeks ago, I noticed his back hind leg stuck out and in general you can just tell that the leg stuck out differently to his others when he walks. Took him to the vets, he was put on medication. I’ve also got him some joint support supplements alongside his vitamin c. Today he went back as I just don’t see any improvement and it’s becoming more stiff, he won’t bend the leg... when the vet tried to bend it (obviously gently) he makes noises so he must be in some kind of pain. Anyway he’s on more pain relief meds, and will be having an x-ray.

He hasn’t had an injury, it’s a condition that has just gotten worse like I said he use to walk on it although I could tell the difference in that leg... and now it’s completely stiff and won’t bend so it sticks out. He’s still eating and drinking.

Has anyone ever had a similar situation?

I have had several piggies with arthritis in their back legs. Usually they cope well on pain relief plus a warm environment, no ramps, and regular gentle exercise just as you would if you had arthritis yourself.
Not sure why your piggies leg is deformed though, hopefully the xray will give some answers
