I've had Archie a week now (he's now 9 weeks old), but he still hasn't gained any weight. Although he seems to be filling out and doesn't seem quite as bony, he still only weighs 450g. Should I be worried about this?
He gets unlimited supply of Burgess Excel pellets and hay, and gets approximately a cupful of vegetables a day. Is there anything I can do to increase his weight? Or could it be something like worms that are stopping weight gain?

Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

Aww, he must be tiny. I'm just wondering if I should sit it out or take him to the vets to get checked for worms. He seems to eat enough but just isn't gaining weight :(

How long have you had your little one? I've only had Archie a week so am wondering if I should wait a while longer to see if he just needs to settle a bit more. But then he's not in the best condition either, I think he might have mites or something similar, so he could easily have worms too :(

oh no, ive had Oscar about 3 weeks, and he has gained every week, but when i compare him to others that are posted he seems so tiny weight wise! He is little, very little, but ive never had pigs so young before and arent really sure how they are meant to be size wise!

Poor thing, i hope hes ok x

He seems happy enough in himself and is very confident :). I'll just keep an eye on him for now. If he doesn't gain in the next week I'll pop to the vets.
Your little boy does sound tiny. I suppose it depends on whether he feels skinny or not. He may just be a small piggy :)). Cute!

Like children, and my youngster (2 year old welsh pony) some just don't seem to grow, then suddenly have a real spurt.. it sounds like he's filling out, and then will have a sudden growth spurt all over ;)

gosh i hope so, to be honest looking at him etc I'm not overly worried, and i can sometimes get a bit hung up on weights after having two poorly pigs, but i think he will be ok.

Only time will tell!
