Hey everyone,
I'm sure some of you might've read on a couple of my previous threads about me introducing my two boars to each other.
We've started doing it gradually, by doing things like playing on the grass etc. They play happily, but one of them (or possibly both of them), spray what I think could be "boar juice" at one another, and it is really difficult to wash off of their fur, and it has a DISGUSTING smell.

Is this normal behaviour? It smells so bad, its unbelievable.

Thanks in advance x

They don't fight at all, they just make such a mess on each other and its such a pain to bath them afterwards!
As long as it's normal behaviour, that'll stop me worrying haha :) x

If I got them neutered, would this stop the spraying of boar juice? :p

I'm not sure if neutering stops the urges to mate. If the boys are getting on fine then best not to risk them to surgery. A little swarfega gel should help to remove any stubborn hardened gunk.

If they are getting on OK with each other (spraying, mounting etc is good boar behaviour) then I wouldnt keep seperating them and reintroducing them as they will have to start the ritual all over again of spraying boar juice :x

Let them stay together then things can start to calm down.

I think as they get used to each other/older it should stop.
